There are lots of things to consider when planning your adventurous hiking elopement in New Hampshire. The biggest thing is where you'll have your elopement. There are so many incredible hiking locations under 5 miles that I've hand picked for you to check out below.
BEST ADVENTUROUS HIKES FOR YOUR NEW HAMPSHIRE ELOPEMENT
CRAWFORD NOTCH STATE PARK
MOUNT WILLARD
This 3.1-mile out-and-back trail is near Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. It takes an average of 1 h 50 min.
ARETHUSA FALLS
This 2.8-mile out-and-back trail is near Harts Location, New Hampshire. It takes an average of 1 h 44 min.
NORTH CONWAY
DIANA'S BATH
This 1.3-mile out-and-back trail is near Intervale, New Hampshire. It takes an average of 30 min.
FRANCONIA NOTCH STATE PARK
ARTIST'S BLUFF TRAIL
This 1.5-mile loop trail is near Franconia, New Hampshire. It takes an average of 53 min.
WHITE HOUSE TRAIL
This 3.2-mile loop trail is near Hales Location, New Hampshire. It takes an average of 1 h 57 min.
PROFILE LAKE VIA PEMI TRAIL
This 1.3-mile out-and-back trail is near Franconia, New Hampshire. It takes an average of 28 min.
FLUME GORGE TRAIL
This trail is a 2.2 miles out and back loop trail to Flume Gorge.
CATHEDRAL LEDGE + ECHO LAKE STATE PARK
CATHEDRAL LEDGE - BRYCE PATH
This 2.0-mile out-and-back trail is near North Conway, New Hampshire. It takes an average of 1 h 13 min to complete.
It's pretty steep and requires some scrambling.
ECHO LAKE
This short, easy trail is a 0.9-mile loop trail is near North Conway, New Hampshire. It takes an average of 17 min.
WHITEHORSE LEDGE
This is a 3.2-mile loop trail near Hales Location, New Hampshire. It takes an average of 1 h 57 min.
It's also a huge chunk of granite that is perfect if you want to plan a rock climbing elopement!
FRANCONIA
SUGAR HILL - LUPINE FIELD
To see the purple, blue and pink lupines, head out early to mid June. On Sugar Hill Road right past Polly's pancakes and you'll see a beautiful lupine field on your right.
Some guidelines:-Don't walk on private property - only use the flower paths
-Leave no trace
-Do not pick the lupine flowers.
Enjoy Polly's Pancakes nearby for breakfast!
MOUNT WASHINGTON
HERMIT LAKE + SHELTER VIA TUCKERMAN RAVINE TRAIL
This trail is just under 5 miles out and back and takes about 3 h 27 min to complete so pack lots of snacks, water and a daypack!
MOUNT WASHINGTON
While it's a long hike to get to the top of Mount Washington, it's easily accessible via car.
Peak Rates July 1-Sept 10 and Sept 30-Oct 22. Car & driver: $45. Adult passenger: $20.
Good news! You can drive up Mount Washington and it only takes 30 minutes! Once you reach the top there is a parking lot where you can park and explore.

9:00 am Wakeup at Airbnb pack for hiking elopement
9:30 am Breakfast at a local restaurant or cafe
10 am Meet at trailhead
- 2-4 hours hiking to summit *depending on location
2:50 pm Summit mountain
- Rest time 25 minutes before photos
- Take time to change into wedding attire
3:15 pm First look
3:30 pm Ceremony/vows
4-5:00 pm - Sunset photos at the summit *dependent on sunset time
