ELOPEMENT LOCATIONS

PLEASANT MOUNTAIN

Denmark, ME

This is nearly a ten mile hike which I have hiked before. It's definitely not terrible but is pretty strenuous. It is very much worth the views at the top!

Dogs: Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash

PORTLAND HEADLIGHT | FORT WILLIAMS STATE PARK

Cape Elizabeth, ME

This lighthouse is located right on the ocean near Portland, Maine’s largest city. This park features long loops of walking trails that stem around the lighthouse. There are even bunker ruins! If you're seeking to have an elopement with more than 20 guests you must fill out an application.

Dogs: Dogs are allowed on a leash

ACADIA NATIONAL PARK

Bar Harbor, ME

Dogs: Dogs are allowed on a leash

Acadia requires a special use permit for any ceremony that has over 10 guests. The permit is $50 and can be filled out here.

Acadia National Park is 47,000-acre Atlantic coast recreation area. Here is the number to obtain a special permit, call (207) 288-8793 for more info. Among locations for elopements are Jordan Pond, Cadillac Mountain, Otter Point, Thunder Hole and Seal Harbor.

Only 20 guests can attend an elopement at Cadillac Mountain. Bathrooms are available. The mountain does not allow ceremonies at sunrise or sunset.

Tip:

Acadia can become very crowded especially during Summer. Opting to plan your elopement during a weekday will help you find an intimate place to have your ceremony.

Baxter State Park

Millinocket, ME

Elope in Maine's beautiful Baxter State Park with views of Katahdin the end point for the Appalachian Trail. The fee to park is per day $12/per car.

Other Great Locations:
