Choosing the perfect location for your elopement is all about finding a place that resonates with both as a couple and reflects your personalities and the vision you have for your big day! Here's a step-by-step guide to help you choose the right location if you're stumped on what to pick.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR ELOPEMENT LOCATION

Discuss Your Vision: Have an open conversation with your partner about what your day looks like. Do you envision a beach setting, a mountain backdrop, a forest setting, or a city elopement? Also consider factors like the vibe, weather, and what landscape you want. Remember, what your photos look like will heavily depend on where you elope!

Consider Meaningful Places: Are there any places that hold meaning to you as a couple? This could look like where you first met, a favorite vacation spot, or a destination that you've always dreamed of visiting together. Let's make those dreams come true!

Research Destinations: Explore different destinations that match your criteria. Look into various elopement-friendly locations, both near and far, and consider factors like accessibility, local laws, and permit requirements.

Hire Local Vendors: Hire vendors that know the general area you want to elope in. This is huge! When looking for your elopement photographer its so important to find someone you not only vibe with and love their work but they also have tons of knowledge about locations or are willing to location scout for you! Also a bonus if they include elopement planning so you don't have to stress!

Budget: Write down your budget for your elopement. There are lots of factors that go into this including travel expenses, accommodations, vendors and any other costs associated with the location. Make sure the chosen destination aligns with your vision.

Weather Considerations: Check the weather for your potential locations, especially if you're planning an outdoor ceremony. When choosing the time of year you want to get married consider if you want snow on the ground, leaves falling or flowers blooming!

Privacy: Decide whether you prefer a secluded and intimate setting or public location. Make not if you prefer a remote destination for total privacy or somewhere off the beaten path. If you are looking for total privacy I can work with you to find a location that will offer that. If you want a popular location such as a state or National Park we can also work together to obtain permits and make figure out logistics for your day!

Logistics: Think about the logistical aspects of your potential location, such as transportation, accommodation options, marriage license requirements, and any legal procedures you need to complete beforehand. I will work with you to navigate the logistics beforehand so your elopement day runs seamlessly.

Trust Your Instincts: When it all comes down to finding the perfect location, trust your instincts and choose a location that feels right for you both. Have a long and deep conversation together and select a place that embodies the love and commitment you share as a couple.
