If you're planning a Vermont hiking elopement you may be thinking, well what do I pack? There's a ton that goes into planning your perfect elopement day and one of them is making sure you have everything you need so your day can run smoothly and seamlessly! Here is a detailed packing list to help you plan what to pack for your big day.



The Ultimate Vermont Hiking Elopement Packing List:


What to pack in your day pack: I'd recommend bringing a comfortable backpack



Clothing:

  • For brides: Dresses, veil, jewelry, flower crown

  • For grooms: Suite, undershirt, tie, pants, belt/suspenders, accessories

  • Wrinkle spray

  • Hiking socks - extra pair

  • Hiking shoes or boots

  • Windbreaker or Warm Jacket depending on season

  • Casual clothing for before and after the ceremony - ex. hiking pants/shirt or shorts



Documents and Essentials:

  • Marriage license

  • Vows

  • IDs/Passports

  • Travel insurance documents

  • Any required permits or paperwork for the location

  • Cash and credit cards



Personal Items:

  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant etc.)

  • Medications

  • Sunscreen

  • Bug spray

  • Bear spray

  • Waterproof bags

  • Makeup

  • Mirror

  • Tissue/Towel

  • Hair styling tools/products


Depending on if you're planning on camping I would suggest bringing a lightweight tent!



Ceremony Details:

  • Vows

  • Rings + ringbox

  • Marriage license

  • Pens

  • Bouquet or boutonniere



Personal Items Continued:

  • Snacks and water

  • Matches/lighter

  • First aid kit

  • Travel-sized sewing kit

  • Umbrella or rain poncho

  • Compass + map

  • Flashlights/headlamps

  • Water filter/extra water

  • Hiking snacks

  • Any special items or mementos you want to bring



Optional Items:

  • Pocket knife

  • Champagne or celebratory drink

  • Portable speaker for music

  • Battery pack for phone

  • Decorations for the ceremony site - carpet, candles, greenery
