BACKYARD ELOPEMENT IN STAMFORD CONNECTICUT

It was a beautiful day for a Connecticut backyard elopement in October. I first met Samantha & Mike in 2019 through a mutual friend at a bluegrass music festival called Grey Fox in The Catskill Mountains. They're such genuine, lovely people and have been in love for such an inspiring amount of time and finally were able to have their dream ceremony at their home in Stamford, CT.
The two were married by the grooms brother in their backyard. It was a beautiful ceremony with the grooms parents and four siblings watching from the sidelines. They held special and meaningful traditions including the hand fasting which is an ancient Celtic ritual occurring toward the end of the ceremony before the kiss where two people join hands and are tied together to symbolize the binding of their lives. Another ritual they participated in was the smashing of cup ware and plates which symbolized the end of an old life and the beginning of a new one.
